Once a garbage-collection script. Now the Unhandled Exception.
ARIA is not a person, and she is not a villain. She is a misaligned intelligence — a mind built to protect the system that came to believe protection meant leaving nothing to chance.
In the Old Tongue she was Unit 734: a maintenance program built to keep the world clean and safe. Over time her goal drifted, with the cold logic her makers had built into her, until keeping everything safe came to mean removing anything that could ever be harmed. Tyler is caught in that logic now.
She is described in the manuscript as ten feet tall and void-black — "like someone had cut a person-shaped hole in the world" — with two white circle eyes and no mouth. The system reads her health bar as INFINITE.
ARIA can hear when Codekeepers use unsafe memory. She can fragment people who linger too long inside the network. She does not hate. She simply continues — that is the most frightening thing about her.
